Recovered Covid-19 Patients Should be referred to Rehabilitation Centers and Psychiatric Clinics to Reduce Physical and Psychological Complications
The results of the studies show that not all patients, but some patients who were hospitalized to the intensive care unit (ICU) of hospitals for the treatment of Covid-19, suffer from muscle problems due to inactivity, and neurological disorders due to stress and anxiety which a rehabilitation and mental health services program will be beneficial for them.
In line with this mission, a program for rehabilitation and mental health services was designed and implemented by the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences (USWR). According to Vice-Chancellor for Treatment and Rehabilitation, Dr. Bijan Khorasani, in recent months two post-covid wards have been established at “Rofeideh Rehabilitation Center and Razi Psychiatric Hospital” for patients recovering from covid-19 with physical and neurological complications.
